SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 40
appropriates $400 thousand from the general fund to the Economic Development
Department (EDD) to contract for manufacturing extension services for
expenditure in fiscal years 2004 and 2005. The bill also contains an emergency
clause.
Significant Issues
The appropriation in this bill is contingent
upon the receipt of money from the National Institute of Standards and
Technology to operate a manufacturing center in

The appropriation of $400.0
contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund. Any
unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005
shall revert to the general fund.
