SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 244 proposes
to require at-site absentee voters and at-site election day voters to show
identification to vote on a standard ballot.
If identification is not available, the voters will be required to vote
on a provisional ballot.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
There are no
significant fiscal implications associated with this bill.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
The Attorney General’s
Office notes there may be a high rate of provisional ballots until voters
remember to bring identification with them to the polling site.
