SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 481
appropriates $100.0 to PED for
Significant Issues
House Bill 481 would provide opportunities for
students, teachers, parents and community members to benefit from educational
information and learning events that may not otherwise be available.
According to PED, KANW is a non-commercial
educational radio station owned and operated by the Albuquerque Board of
Education, and it provides listeners with a vase assortment of public radio
programs and diversity of learning. The
station is affiliated with National Public Radio (NPR)
and Public Radio International (PRI) and offers quality locally produced
programs.
The department indicates that funding of this
initiative would allow the community to actively engage
in the instructional programs of their district.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
House Bill 481 appropriates
$100.0 to PED from the general fund and is recurring.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
The PED would
administer the program.
