SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 267
appropriates $100 thousand from the general fund to the 2nd Judicial
District Court for the purpose of a civil attorney.
Significant Issues
This position was included in the 2003 General
Appropriation Act, but line item vetoed by the governor. This year, the 2nd Judicial
District received an additional $150 thousand in Section 4 of the General
Appropriation Act to be used for salaries.
In the General Appropriation Act’s current version, the agency has
sufficient funds to employ a civil attorney for FY 2005.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $100
thousand contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining
at the end of FY 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
