The House Education Committee amendment reduces the appropriation to $4,640 million from the original $5 million.

 

Synopsis of Original Bill

 

House Bill 335 appropriates $5 million from the general fund to the board of regents at New Mexico Highlands University for the purpose of raising employee salaries to achieve equity with other state post-secondary educational institutions.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

 

The appropriation of $5 million contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
