House Bill 22 would recompile several existing emergency procedure statues into two new statutes: the Emergency Powers Code and the Emergency Licensing Act.
The
effective date would be
Significant Issues
Various sections of law deal with emergency
management and the powers of state agencies to participate in emergency
management. The reorganization of these
statutes will not have substantive impact on existing law. HB22 is recommended
as part of a package of emergency preparedness bills that were created
following an intensive town meeting/public input process conducted by the
Department of Health, Department of Public Safety and the Attorney General’s
Office during 2002.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
HB22 does not contain an appropriation and would
not have a fiscal impact on any state agency.
