AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FROM THE TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES BLOCK GRANT FOR A STATEWIDE PROGRAM FOR FATHERHOOD AND FAMILY STRENGTHENING.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million dollars ($2,000,000) is appropriated from the temporary assistance for needy families block grant to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 to contract with the cooperative extension service for a statewide program to strengthen families and promote father involvement to help create stable families. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the human services department.
