AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FOR TEEN PARENTING, CHILD CARE AND PREGNANCY PREVENTION PROGRAMS AND HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION AND JOB SKILLS TRAINING.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million three hundred thousand dollars ($1,300,000) is appropriated from the temporary assistance for needy families maintenance of effort funding to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 to provide secondary parenting classes and case management, on-site child care services and fatherhood support groups to reduce out-of-wedlock births. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
