AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FROM THE TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE TO NEEDY FAMILIES BLOCK GRANT FOR THE TEAMWORKS PROGRAM IN BERNALILLO AND DONA ANA COUNTIES; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000) is appropriated from the temporary assistance for needy families block grant to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 to improve and expand the teamworks program of the commission on the status of women that provides life skills and employability skills training and case management and other needed services for women in Bernalillo and Dona Ana counties. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the human services department as carryover.

     Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
