Your JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE BILL 251
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 1, lines 11 and 12, strike "COMPULSIVE GAMBLER FEES" and insert in lieu thereof "A COMPULSIVE GAMBLER FEE".
2. On page 1, strike lines 18 through 25 in their entirety, on page 2, strike lines 1 through 25 in their entirety and on page 3, strike lines 1 through 20 in their entirety.
3. Renumber the succeeding sections accordingly.
4. On page 6, line 21, after "means", strike the remainder of the line and on line 22, strike "authority,".
5. On page 8, between lines 8 and 9, insert the following new subsection to read:
"F. The department of health shall reimburse a gaming operator licensee or an Indian nation, tribe or pueblo that has entered into a tribal-state gaming compact and is paying into the compulsive gambling treatment fund for the reasonable costs of a compulsive gambling education, prevention and treatment program that the gaming operator licensee or the Indian nation, tribe or pueblo has implemented; provided that the compulsive gambling education, prevention or treatment program meets the standards set by the department of health by rule.".
6. Reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.
7. On page 8, between lines 10 and 11, insert the following new subsection to read:
"H. The department of health shall ensure that compulsive gambling treatment programs are available in all geographic regions of the state.".
8. Reletter the remaining subsections accordingly.
