Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE BILL 250
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 3, line 17, strike "and".
2. On page 3, line 21, strike the period and quotation mark and insert in lieu thereof "; and".
3. On page 3, between lines 21 and 22, insert a new subsection to read:
"F. ensure that all instructional materials on the multiple list purchased by school districts and state instituitions meet the public education department standards and benchmarks."".
4. On page 4, line 25 and page 5, line 1, remove the brackets and line through "An amount not to exceed thirty percent of the allocations attributed to" and strike "thirty" and insert in lieu thereof "fifty".
5. On page 5, line 1, strike "Each" and insert in lieu thereof "each".
6. On page 5, lines 2 and 3, remove the brackets and line through "be used for instructional material".
7. On page 5, lines 3 and 4, strike the underscored material.
8. On page 5, lines 6, through 8, remove the brackets and line-through.
9. On page 5, line 8, after the period insert "School districts and state institutions shall expend at least fifty percent and may expend more than fifty percent of their instructional material allocation for items on the multiple list.".
10. On page 5, line 20, strike "twenty-five" and insert in lieu thereof "seventy-five".
11. On page 6, line 1, strike "seventy-five" and insert in lieu thereof "twenty-five".,
and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE COMMITTEE.
