AN ACT

MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE PROSECUTION OF CAPITAL FELONY CASES THAT AROSE FROM THE RIOT AT THE GUADALUPE COUNTY CORRECTIONAL FACILITY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS.--

          A. The following amounts are appropriated from the general fund to the following entities for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 and subsequent fiscal years to prosecute capital felony cases that arose from the riot at the Guadalupe county correctional facility:

                (1) five hundred seventy-eight thousand dollars ($578,000) to the fourth judicial district attorney's office; and

                (2) two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) to the attorney general's office.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
