AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SALT CEDAR IRRADICATION IN THE SOCORRO SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million two hundred fifty dollars ($1,250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 to pay for treatment of large monotypic stands of salt cedar with herbicide from a helicopter application to approximately twenty-five thousand acres between U.S. Highway 60 and the Mexican border by the Socorro soil and water conservation district. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
