FOR THE ECONOMIC AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND

TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ENHANCE THE RESEARCH AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS AT THE NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE CENTER AT CLOVIS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Five hundred eighty-two thousand dollars ($582,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 to enhance research and education programs relating to water conservation, dairy production, cropping systems and agricultural sustainability at the agricultural science center at Clovis to be spent in the following amounts by the following organizations:

                (1) three hundred fifty-four thousand five hundred dollars ($354,500) to the agricultural experiment station; and

                (2) two hundred twenty-seven thousand five hundred dollars ($227,500) to the cooperative extension service.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
