    Your BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 561

has had it under consideration and reports same WITHOUT RECOMMENDATION amended as follows:

    1. On page 1, line 23, strike "twenty-nine" and insert in lieu thereof "thirty".

     2. On page 2, lines 11 through 14, strike Paragraph (4) in its entirety and insert in lieu thereof:

                "(4) two persons who are teachers licensed and teaching in elementary or secondary education or other public school employees selected by the statewide organization of the national education association, with the advice and consent of the senate;".

     3. On page 3, lines 4 through 6, strike "in consultation with the New Mexico association of educational retirees,".

     4. On page 3, line 8, strike "retired public employees of New Mexico" and insert in lieu thereof "New Mexico association of educational retirees".

     5. On page 3, lines 13 and 14, strike Paragraph (12) in its entirety.

     6. Renumber the succeeding paragraphs accordingly.

     7. On page 3, line 20, after "senate" insert ", from lists provided by unions representing state employees".

     8. On page 5, line 5, after "aging" insert ", the secretary of human services".

     9. On page 5, line 21, after the period insert "An appointed member shall only be removed for cause or if the member misses three consecutive regular or special meetings.".

     10. On page 63, line 11, after the period insert "A participant covered as of the effective date of this 2004 act by one of the four groups being consolidated shall not lose eligibility as a result of this 2004 act.".,

and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE COMMITTEE.
