AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO FOR A HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION PROGRAM IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 to contract for a human rights education program in the public schools through the university of New Mexico's department of education. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
