AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR VARIOUS SENIOR CITIZEN PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT NEW MEXICO.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--
A. Eight million one hundred fifty-eight thousand five hundred eighty-five dollars ($8,158,585) is appropriated from the general fund to the state agency on aging for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 in the following amounts for the following purposes:
(1) five hundred seventy-seven thousand five hundred thirty-five dollars ($577,535) to provide for increased volunteers for the foster grandparent, senior companion and RSVP programs;
(2) eight hundred ninety-four thousand five hundred seventy-one dollars ($894,571) for senior centers and other supportive services;
(3) two million eight hundred thirty-one thousand nine hundred eighty-seven dollars ($2,831,987) for home and community-based services;
(4) six hundred eighty-one thousand forty-one dollars ($681,041) for basic salaries and benefits for employees of senior citizen programs and service providers statewide through six area agencies on aging;
(5) one hundred thirty-six thousand eight hundred eighty-two dollars ($136,882) for increased information, assistance and education services for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, related disorders or chronic illnesses and their families or caregivers;
(6) six hundred forty-three thousand three hundred thirty-one dollars ($643,331) for congregate meals through area agencies on aging;
(7) nine hundred fourteen thousand one hundred eleven dollars ($914,111) for home-delivered meals through area agencies on aging;
(8) one hundred eighty-one thousand seven hundred fifty dollars ($181,750) for transportation services through area agencies on aging;
(9) one hundred four thousand two hundred twenty-eight dollars ($104,228) for statewide senior citizen Olympics activities;
(10) one hundred thirty thousand dollars ($130,000) for the health insurance and benefits assistance corps;
(11) two hundred nineteen thousand four hundred dollars ($219,400) for the senior employment program;
(12) one hundred nine thousand six hundred seventy-five dollars ($109,675) for the legal assistance program; and
(13) seven hundred thirty-four thousand seventy-four dollars ($734,074) for administrative support for the aging network.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
