AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CONTRACT WITH A HEALTH CARE RECRUITMENT AGENCY TO EXPAND EFFORTS TO RECRUIT HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS FOR NEW MEXICO.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 to contract with a qualified, nonprofit health care professional recruitment agency to expand efforts throughout the state to recruit physicians, physician assistants, dentists, nurses, nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives and clinical nurse specialists for contractual services or employment by state agencies. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
