FOR THE LEGISLATIVE EDUCATION STUDY COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO STUDY THE RESOURCES NEEDED BY PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS TO MEET STATE AND FEDERAL PERFORMANCE STANDARDS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 to study the resources needed by public schools to provide opportunities for public school students to meet state and federal performance standards. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
