Madam President:

    Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 271, as amended

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

    1. On page 23, strike lines 3 through 25 and on page 24, strike lines 1 through 15.

    2. On page 32, between lines 22 and 23, insert the following new section:

    "Section 17. [NEW MATERIAL] PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT.--The public education department shall appoint the secretary of public education or the secretary's designee to serve as a member of the interagency behavioral health purchasing collaborative and shall ensure that any behavioral health services, including mental health and substance abuse services funded, provided, contracted for or approved, are in compliance with the requirements of Section 9-7-6.4 NMSA 1978.".

    3. Renumber the succeeding section accordingly.,

and thence referred to the FINANCE COMMITTEE.
