AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CONTRACT FOR INFORMATIONAL CLEARINGHOUSE SERVICES BETWEEN NON-NATIVE AND NATIVE COMMUNITIES AND REGIONAL RESOURCES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 to contract for the services of an informational clearinghouse between non-native communities and native communities, providing information on Native American issues, including information on substance abuse; adult and family counseling services; establishing credit and obtaining loans; tax filing assistance; interpretation; cultural activities; and native foods introduction and facility usage for indigent Native Americans in Farmington. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
