Madam President:
Your INDIAN AND CULTURAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
HOUSE BILL 92, as amended
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. Strike House Government and Urban Affairs Committee Amendment 2.
2. On page 4, line 8, strike "he" and insert in lieu thereof "the secretary".
3. On page 9, line 8, after "BOARD OF REGENTS.--" insert the subsection designation "A.".
4. On page 9, between lines 14 and 15, insert the following new subsections:
"B. The director of the division shall meet the following minimum qualifications:
(1) hold a bachelor's or higher degree in a discipline related to the function of the division; and
(2) have significant experience in the management and operation of an organization similar to the division.
C. The director shall be appointed by the secretary of cultural affairs from a list of no less than three names provided by the museum of New Mexico board of regents.".
5. On page 9, line 16, after "BOARD OF REGENTS.--" insert the subsection designation "A.".
6. On page 9, between lines 23 and 24, insert the following new subsections:
"B. The director of the division shall meet the following minimum qualifications:
(1) hold a bachelor's or higher degree in a discipline related to the function of the division; and
(2) have significant experience in the management and operation of an organization similar to the division.
C. The director shall be appointed by the secretary of cultural affairs from a list of no less than three names provided by the museum of New Mexico board of regents.".
7. On page 9, line 25, after "BOARD OF REGENTS.--" insert the subsection designation "A.".
8. On page 10, between lines 6 and 7, insert the following new subsections:
"B. The director of the division shall meet the following minimum qualifications:

(2) have significant experience in the management and operation of an organization similar to the division.

12. On page 11, between lines 15 and 16, insert the following new subsections:

and thence referred to the FINANCE COMMITTEE.
