46th legislature - STATE OF NEW MEXICO - first session, 2003
HONORING NEW MEXICO MILITARY SERVICE PERSONNEL, RECOGNIZING THEIR CONTRIBUTION AND EXPECTING THEIR SAFE RETURN; DECLARING FEBRUARY 18, 2003 AS "NEW MEXICO MILITARY PERSONNEL DAY".
WHEREAS, generations of New Mexicans have served their country through military service; and
WHEREAS, New Mexicans who are on active duty in the reserves or the national guard stand ready to serve their country; and
WHEREAS, New Mexicans in all branches of the military are on alert as the crisis in the middle east continues to demand the presence of our armed forces; and
WHEREAS, New Mexico military personnel, including the 720th transportation company from Las Vegas, New Mexico, have been called up to support the military presence in the middle east; and
WHEREAS, all New Mexicans share a concern for the safety of their fellow citizens;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that recognition be extended to New Mexico military personnel and that February 18, 2003 be declared "New Mexico Military Personnel Day"; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the house of representatives extend its hopes and prayers for the safe return of all New Mexico military personnel to their families, homes and communities; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the appropriate offices of the state's military bases, military reserves and the national guard.
