SUMMARY
Synopsis
of Bill
Senate Bill 844
appropriates $80,000 from the General Fund to the Office of Indian Affairs for
the purpose of funding
Significant
Issues
The Office of Indian Affairs offers that the
Indian Pueblo Cultural Center (IPCC) is the only venue in Albuquerque and the
surrounding communities that offers Pueblo Indian Dances and education programs
every week. This funding would support
special music and dance programs, education programs, artist demonstrations and
special events.
The IPCC is owned and
operated by the 19 Pueblos of New Mexico.
The IPCC opened in 1976 and its mission is to showcase the history and
accomplishments of
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $80.0 contained in this
bill is a recurring expense to the General Fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered
balance remaining at the end of Fiscal Year 2004 shall revert to the General
