Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 749 appropriates $55.0 to provide bilingual technology training for low-income and minority students and their families in the Santa Fe Public Schools to enhance educational and work skills.
Significant
Issues
Project TACT( Teaching All Communities Technology) was designed to encourage students from low-income minority families to stay in school and improve academically in return for receiving a home computer and technology training for the student and family. This training is a four-week course offered by Santa Fe Public Schools in Spanish or in English and publicized through the district’s Bilingual Education programs. Project TACT has been in operation for two years in the Santa Fe Public Schools.

appropriates $55.0 from the general fund and is recurring.
