SUMMARY

     Synopsis of Bill

Senate Bill 349 appropriates $100.0 from the general fund to the Tourism Department for the purpose of the Albuquerque tricentennial celebration.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

The appropriation of $100.0 contained in this bill is a non-recurring expense to the general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY04 shall revert to the general fund.

The Tourism Department notes that an additional temporary FTE would be needed at a cost of $42.0 for payment and travel expenses.

OTHER SUBSTANTIVE ISSUES

The Tourism Department notes that the planning of the celebration could be carried out by the city of Albuquerque.  Thus, the additional funds would not be required.
