SUMMARY
Synopsis
of Bill
Senate Bill 342 amends the Public Utility Act by adding the definition for generation and transmission cooperative and by deleting reference to the Electric Utility Industry Restructuring Act of 1999 in two subsections. The bill carries an emergency clause, making the amendments effective on signature by the Governor.
Significant
Issues
The Public Utility Act will be repealed on July
1, 2003. Several bills have been introduced to repeal the delayed repeal.
