SUMMARY
Synopsis
of Bill
House Joint Memorial
requests that the State Board of Education (SBE) develop procedures to allow
schools to meet paperwork requirements of the state’s accountability system
without adversely affecting an educator’s “Time To Teach”.
Significant
Issues
A demand for accountability by state and local
policy-makers has created the need for a great deal of information that must be
gathered at the classroom level. This
condition has been compounded by the reporting requirements of the federal No
Child Left Behind Act of 2001. this
memorial requests that ways be devised that minimize the demand on teachers who
are often at the root of the data gathering process.
