House Bill 945 appropriates $2,000 from the general fund to the state defense force division of the Department of Military Affairs for the purpose of defraying expenses.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

The appropriation of $2.0 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY04 shall revert to the general fund.

DUPLICATION

Included in the Senate Finance Committee substitute for Senate Bill 655 is $2.0 to the State Defense Force administrative costs.

OTHER SUBSTANTIVE ISSUES

The Department of Military Affairs notes the State Defense Force received $5,200 for operating expenses in FY03 and, based on the HAFC adopted appropriation, will receive $5,000 in FY04 for operating expenses.
