SUMMARY
Synopsis
of Bill
Current law provides
that the motor vehicle division shall issue distinctive motorcycle
registration plates indicating that the recipient is a veteran of the armed
forces of the United States, or retired from the national guard, or military
reserves.
A fee of $7.00 is paid for these special registration
plates. This fee is in addition to the
regular motorcycle registration fee.
HB 564 provides a
one-time waiver of this $7.00 fee for armed forces veterans.
Current law also
provides for distinctive registration plates for motor vehicles for
veterans of the armed forces. A fee of
$15.00 is paid for these special registration plates. This fee is in addition to the regular motor vehicle registration
fee.
HB 564 provides a
one-time waiver of this $15.00 fee for armed veterans.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
HB 564 will likely result in a slight reduction
in fees collected by the motor vehicle division.
