SUMMARY
Synopsis
of Bill
The Senate Judiciary
Committee substitute for Senate Bill 59 more explicitly defines the acts that
would be prohibited, the bill would make illegal the shooting of artificial or
simulated game animals or birds. The bill ties the penalty for this offense to
the current statutory penalty associated to the type of game animal taken.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
Enactment of the bill
would likely have a minor revenue impact. The game and fish department
estimates that it could increase the number of citations written from 50 to 100.
