SUMMARY

 

     Synopsis of Bill

 

Senate Bill 33 amends the Public Employees Retirement Act to allow certain nonprofit retirement organizations to receive the names and addresses of PERA members or retirees without the release or consent of the member or retiree.  To qualify, PERA must currently be withholding membership dues for that organization

 

     Significant Issues

 

Currently, PERA is withholding dues for the Retired Public Employees of New Mexico and AFSCME.
