Synopsis
of Bill
Senate Bill 126 adds
regulatory authority to the Public Regulation Commission over a taxicab service
or terminal shuttle service that begins and ends service routes in the state
and is engaged in non-exempt intra-state business.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The Transportation Division of the PRC is
currently handling these regulatory responsibilities.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
The PRC expects a minimal increase in filing and
other regulatory activity as a result of the SB 126 provisions. The
Transportation Division will be required to register and monitor additional
interstate taxicab and terminal shuttle service carriers.
TECHNICAL ISSUES
The word “and” should be inserted after “state”
on line 1, page 11.
