SUMMARY
Synopsis
of Bill
House Bill 710
appropriates $30.0 from the general fund to the Department of Finance and Administration
for the purpose of contracting with the New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority
(MFA) for the Authority to purchase training services statewide to enhance the
skills and abilities of the state’s housing and community development entities.
Significant
Issues
House Bill 710 requires MFA to purchase training
services to enhance the skills and abilities of the state’s housing and
community development entities. As the
state’s designated housing authority, MFA currently has the ability to provide
such training services with current staff or to collaborate for training with
the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This bill could provide additional services
to provide more efficient and effective services and could enhance the
collective capacity of the existing training available.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of
$30.0 contained in this bill is a non-recurring expense to the general fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004
shall revert to the general fund.
