FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of
$50.0 contained in this bill is a nonrecurring expense to the general fund. Any
unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY04 shall revert to
the general fund.
It is anticipated that such an exhibition would result in
increased attendance and revenue at the museum by
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
The
OTHER SUBSTANTIVE ISSUES
The museum’s mission is to exhibit and
interpret the arts from the entire state.
At present, the museum is unable to fulfill this mandate for the more
distant communities due to lack of funds.
With funding from this bill, the museum could expand its reach to showcase
the outstanding arts of this underserved region, which has been traditionally
overshadowed by the more widely-known arts centers.
