SUMMARY
Synopsis
of Bill
House Bill 346 repeals
state statutes conflicting with federal laws.
The statutes being repealed concern the transport of explosive or other
dangerous materials and have already been superceded by the federal government.
Significant Issues
TRD reports the state
will continue to have the authority to adopt and enforce federal regulations in
existing state statutes saying “…the director shall adopt regulations not
inconsistent with or more stringent than applicable federal safety standards
concerning the safe transportation of hazardous materials, including hazardous
substances and waste.”
