TECHNOLOGY PROJECTS AT INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING THROUGHOUT THE STATE.
I request that the following capital
outlay projects be funded:
• to the commission on higher education
four hundred eighty-seven thousand
dollars ($487,000) to upgrade the information technology infrastructure at
Santa Fe community college in Santa Fe county;
two hundred seventy-six thousand three
hundred dollars ($276,300) to upgrade the information technology network
infrastructure at New Mexico institute of mining and technology in Socorro in
Socorro county;
one hundred seventy thousand four hundred
dollars ($170,400) to replace the information technology network infrastructure
at the main campus of Clovis community college in Clovis in Curry county;
four hundred forty-seven thousand nine
hundred dollars ($447,900) to upgrade the New Mexico higher education intranet
core infrastructure through New Mexico institute of mining and technology in
Socorro in Socorro county;
one million one hundred eighty thousand
dollars ($1,180,000) to improve campus and statewide outreach infrastructure
for statewide online education and resources at the university of New Mexico in
Albuquerque in Bernalillo county;
ninety-three thousand seven hundred
dollars ($93,700) for portable computers and presentation equipment to extend
information technology into classrooms at western New Mexico university branch
campuses in Deming, Gallup and Truth or Consequences and the main campus in
Silver City in Grant county;
six hundred twenty-five thousand dollars
($625,000) to repair or replace network infrastructure and purchase, install
and build a fiber optic network to handle the distribution of data, voice and
video at the Portales campus of eastern New Mexico university in Roosevelt
county;
seven hundred fifty-four thousand dollars
($754,000) to upgrade the information technology network infrastructure at New
Mexico state university branch campuses and the main campus in Las Cruces in
Dona Ana county;
three
hundred forty-nine thousand six hundred dollars ($349,600) for distance
education infrastructure to develop a programming and research methodology course
at New Mexico institute of mining and technology in Socorro in Socorro county;
three hundred thirteen thousand dollars
($313,000) to upgrade and extend the information technology network on the El
Rito campus of northern New Mexico state school in Rio Arriba county; and
one million two hundred thousand dollars
($1,200,000) for information technology upgrades, as part of the joint
administrative software initiative, to administrative systems at five community
colleges through Santa Fe community college in Santa Fe county.
