AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROMOTE LAS CRUCES AS BEING ONE OF THE TOP PLACES IN AMERICA TO WORK AND RETIRE.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the economic development department for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 to provide for the promotion of Las Cruces as the top small metropolitan area for business and careers in America, as reported in a Forbes/Milkens institute study, and one of the best places in America to retire, as reported in Money Magazine. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
