AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING BILINGUAL TECHNOLOGY TRAINING FOR LOW-INCOME AND MINORITY STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN THE SANTA FE PUBLIC SCHOOLS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION--BILINGUAL TECHNOLOGY TRAINING.--Fifty-five thousand dollars ($55,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 for the purpose of providing bilingual technology training for low-income and minority students and their families in the Santa Fe public schools to bridge the digital divide and enhance essential educational and work skills. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
