AN ACT

RELATING TO MEDICAL ASSISTANCE; LIMITING THE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE APPROPRIATION AT THE RATE APPROPRIATED FOR FISCAL YEAR 2003; ENACTING A SECTION OF THE PUBLIC ASSISTANCE ACT.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. A new section of the Public Assistance Act is enacted to read:

"[NEW MATERIAL] MEDICAL ASSISTANCE EXPENDITURES FOR FISCAL YEARS 2004 THROUGH 2006.--The appropriation for the medical assistance program of the human services department for fiscal years 2004, 2005 and 2006, respectively, shall not exceed the percent of the total state appropriation that was appropriated to the human services department for the medical assistance program in fiscal year 2003."
