SENATE FLOOR AMENDMENT number ___1___ to SENATE BILL 571, as amended

Amendment sponsored by Senator Mark Boitano

1. Strike Senate Corporations and Transportation Committee Amendments 2, 5 and 6.

2. On page 2, lines 4 through 15, remove all brackets and line-through and strike all underscored language.

3. On page 2, line 18, strike "or" and on line 19, remove the brackets and line through and strike the underscored language.

4. On page 2, line 25, strike the period and insert in lieu thereof "; or".

5. On page 2, after line 25, insert the following new paragraph:

"(5) an applicant for a qualifying broker's license shall have been actively engaged in the real estate business as an associate broker or salesperson for at least two years and furnish the commission a certificate that he has completed successfully a broker basics course approved by the commission.".
