AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CREATE A CENTER FOR BORDER SUPERINTENDENCY TO IMPROVE EDUCATION IN THE UNITED STATES-MEXICO BORDER REGION THROUGH THE PREPARATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF UNITED STATES BORDER SUPERINTENDENTS AND THROUGH THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF MEXICAN BORDER ADMINISTRATORS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 to create a center for border superintendency to improve education in the United States-Mexico border region through the preparation and professional development of United States border superintendents and through the professional development of Mexican border administrators. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
