AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE TAXATION AND REVENUE DEPARTMENT FOR AN ENHANCED AND EXPANDED TAX COLLECTION PROGRAM.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five million dollars ($5,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the taxation and revenue department for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 to establish and staff an enhanced and expanded program to collect delinquent taxes and strengthen current tax collection efforts. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
