AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR NURSING EDUCATION AT NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 to maintain nursing faculty salaries at the fiftieth percentile of peer universities and to increase the number of faculty positions in order to maintain and expand the number of students in the main campus nursing program. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
