AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR COMMUNITY-COLLEGE-BASED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS PROVIDING HIGH SKILLS TRAINING.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million dollars ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the commission on higher education for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 to develop, expand and support broad-based entry-level high skills training programs at community colleges statewide, including instructors, curriculum implementation, laboratory development and equipment operating and maintenance support. Each community college that receives funds for the programs shall provide an equal amount of funding from a source other than the state. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
