AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FUND FORENSIC INVESTIGATIONS PERFORMED DUE TO DEATHS OCCURRING ON TRIBAL LAND.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 to fund forensic investigations performed due to deaths occurring on the land of an Indian nation, tribe or pueblo in New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
