RELATING TO ELECTIONS; CHANGING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT MAY BE KEPT IN THE ELECTRONIC VOTING SYSTEM REVOLVING FUND.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. Section 1-9-19 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1985, Chapter 207, Section 18, as amended) is amended to read:
"1-9-19. ELECTRONIC VOTING SYSTEM REVOLVING FUND.--The
"electronic voting system revolving fund" is created. The
electronic voting system revolving fund may be used to finance,
by contract, the purchase of electronic voting systems and
necessary support equipment under the conditions stated in
Section 1-9-17 NMSA 1978. The electronic voting system
revolving fund may be expended upon vouchers signed by the
secretary of finance and administration. If at the end of the
fiscal year the electronic voting system revolving fund exceeds
[four million dollars ($4,000,000)] six million five hundred
thousand dollars ($6,500,000), the amount in excess of [four
million dollars ($4,000,000)] six million five hundred thousand
dollars ($6,500,000) shall revert to the general fund."
