AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CREATE A WATER CONSERVATION EDUCATION PROGRAM.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred ninety thousand dollars ($290,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 to create a water conservation education program that shall include curriculum development, a literacy program, community service and documentary and brochure development. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
