Your BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 535

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 6, line 24, strike "to substantiate the allegation" and strike the second "to".

2. On page 6, line 25, strike "take" and after "action" insert "shall be taken".

3. On page 7, line 9, strike "long-term care" and insert in lieu thereof "health facilities".

4. On page 7, line 10, after the comma strike the remainder of the line and strike line 11 through the comma.

5. On page 7, line 15, strike "long-term care settings" and insert in lieu thereof "health facilities".

6. On page 7, line 15, strike the second occurrence of "long-term care" and insert in lieu thereof "health facilities'".

7. On page 7, lines 20 through 22, strike Paragraph (2) in its entirety and insert in lieu thereof the following paragraph:

"(2) an investigation, within the strict priority time frames established by each protocol member's rules, of an allegation or referral of abuse, neglect or exploitation after the department has made a good cause determination that abuse, neglect or exploitation occurred;".

8. On page 7, lines 23 through 25, strike Paragraph (3) in its entirety.

9. On page 8, lines 1 through 3, strike Paragraph (4) in its entirety.

10. Renumber the succeeding paragraphs accordingly.

11. On page 8, line 8, strike "(5)" and insert in lieu thereof "(3)".

12. On page 8, line 9, after "as" insert "potential".,

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
