SENATE FLOOR AMENDMENT number ___1___ to HOUSE APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR HOUSE BILL 1

Amendment sponsored by Senator Roman M. Maes, III

1. On page 1, line 21, after the semicolon insert the following:

"MAKING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE OF THE COURTS FOR EXPENDITURE IN FISCAL YEAR 2003;".

2. On page 10, between lines 7 and 8, insert the following new section:

"Section 14. SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS--ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE OF THE COURTS.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the administrative office of the courts for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 for jury and witness costs. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.".

3. Renumber succeeding sections accordingly.
